Have you heard???

The very Lovely Lisa and Danny have listened to my endless nagging lol...

Yep that's right Lisa is looking into getting cakey/bakey stuff in the shop whoop!!!

I am sooooo excited... and although it isn't in the shop yet - if there is anything you want drop Lisa a message and I am sure she will look to see if it's something she can get in!!

So until then ... and to wet your taste buds (or just to make you hungry lol) here are a few cakes I have made recently..

This is a wonky cake - also known as a topsy turvy cake
You can get special pans however I will be putting a tutorial together soon on how you can make them with a normal cake can!!
As for the decoration lots of lovely flower cutters, circle cutters, leave cutter and lush ribbon

My Teddy cake... all modelled myself and again if you would like one I will do a tutorial on how to make teddies/animals/ people etc..
The cake has funky ribbon and lots of different flower cutters and a butterfly cutter

Then last but not least my latest order

A giant cupcake and normal sized cupcakes
as you can see (well hopefully)there are 3 different swirls on the cakes - an ice cream swirl and two rose swirls... over the coming weeks I will show you how to get the different swirls and what nozzles to use!!

Well thanks for looking xxx

C Fold card

Hello all, this is my first video tutorial for That Craft Place, it's a bit ropey in places, and my camera man (OH) was also a bit ropey, notice the counting in I got !!! how funny we were being "professional"... I hope you like the video, and I will post pics later of the cards I made using this technique, the only tricky part was getting the spellbinder die in the correct place.... watch and see, lets say the use of low tack tape is essential !!

Thanks Lizzy xx

I have now taken some photos to help you see the card and embellishments
a little better!

Spring/Summer Blankets ideas....

Hiya, Jo here for a little inspiration.....

Lisa, also sells wool/yarn in the shop so I thought I'd share some pics of my blankets

I have been making a few blankets for the coming Spring/Summer months,
when it's not cold enough to put the heating on
but for when there is a chill in the air and fancy a snuggle in a warm blanket!

Here are some of my projects I do hope they will bring some ideas to you...

I have made the above blanket using a basic granny square stitch....
and random colour changes over 4 colours of yarn

This one is the same as above but more random colour changes
but a 1 row of cream thrown in here and there

This is a real summer bright blanket, which will be my lap/shoulder blanket this year
This is another simple stitch called the "V stitch" and 2 rows of each colour yarn

I also added a scalloped edge

There are loads of patterns on the web
but I love just experimenting and trying random colour patterns.......

and finally here are 2 pics of 2 works in progress blankets.
The first is cream, pink and brown baby size blanket

And second blanket is a stripy granny blanket
that will be for a double size bed/ large sofa

Don't forget to pop over to the shop's website

Big hugs Jo xxx

Paperartsy Canvas

Hi all, just popping on to show you a canvas board I did with Paperartsy stamps, Lisa sells most of their stamps and I for one buy them all!!!! lol.  I started with a canvas board and added die cuts, I can't tell you which lol as the DT had a die cut swap, but most of our dies are from Lisa so if you like this flower scroll die just pop on to Facebook and she will take a picture of the dies in her shop.  Also don't forget, she runs an pigeon hole (I'm always calling it a piggy hole lol), this means you add items you want and pay at the end of the month when you get paid, how amazing is that, interest free :-)  I also used a mask with some embossing paste for the leaves.  Then I painted the whole thing with gesso then paints.  Then I stamped the bottom with HP1009 stamp set, then the flowers and leaves were stamped on black card with paints, from the new set of stamps ELB01. I also used the grunge flower die from Paperartsy to used at the back of the flowers.  To give it texture I wrapped fibers with wire for the stems. The saying was from the stamp set Flora and Fauna 6.

Hope you all have a fantastic Sunday with lots of crafting.  Don't forget to check out the Facebook page we have over a 1000 members now and it's a fantastic group with lots of fun, especially when Lisa puts up pictures of mishaps in the shop or tells funny stories lol.  Lots of DT hugs :-) Kezzy xxx

Paper Piercing....

Morning all, Tracy here :)

I wanted to do a quick tutorial on paper piercing as I know it is something that some people have asked me what it is, So I thought what better way than to do a tutorial !

Firstly you can paper pierce using rubber stamps or digi stamps, but for this tutorial I am using rubber.

You need the following items-

Stamp
Card suitable for stamping
Pens (if you are going to color your image)
Ink pad...as I am using alcohol marks I use Memento
Patterned/colored paper you want to use for piercing
Adhesive...I would recommend a wet glue as this then allows for you too have a bit of movement when placing the pierced section.

You need to stamp your image onto your plain card, and then onto the patterned paper..

If you are coloring your image then do so....

You then need to cut out the sections you wish to "pierce" I want to pierce her top on this stamp. You need to be careful and make sure you stick the stamped lines...

Then glue your sections onto the main image. I also like to add shading the pierced sections just to give it more depth. And there you have your finished paper pierced image.

I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and have fun piercing !

Fabric on canvas

I have made this canvas for my best friend as she is moving and is an obsessive sewer!!!  I added textured paste through a harlequin mask to the corners and then mixed gesso and dusty concorde distress ink, and painted over the canvas.  I sprinkled aged wine frantage over the canvas and heated it from underneath.  stamps from the  Sewing Room set from Visible Image were stamped in versafine and distress inks onto cotton fabric and trimmed.  I stamped the mannikin onto a double layer and sewed round it before stuffing it to add dimension.  I used the sewing stitches to add detail to the edges of the canvas.  I stamped the corset from Visible Image in dusty concorde distress ink and in versamark ink and frantaged it.

You can get all the supplies to make this canvas, or one similar from Lisa ... either from the shop and facebook group.
