The very Lovely Lisa and Danny have listened to my endless nagging lol...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yep that's right Lisa is looking into getting cakey/bakey stuff in the shop whoop!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am sooooo excited... and although it isn't in the shop yet - if there is anything you want drop Lisa a message and I am sure she will look to see if it's something she can get in!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So until then ... and to wet your taste buds (or just to make you hungry lol) here are a few cakes I have made recently..</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I hope you like the video, and I will post pics later of the cards I made using this technique, the only tricky part was getting the spellbinder die in the correct place.... watch and see, lets say the use of low tack tape is essential !!<br />
<br />
Thanks Lizzy xx<br />

Hiya, Jo here for a little inspiration..... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lisa, also sells wool/yarn in the shop so I thought I'd share some pics of my blankets</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been making a few blankets for the coming Spring/Summer months,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
when it's not cold enough to put the heating on </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but for when there is a chill in the air and fancy a snuggle in a warm blanket!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are some of my projects I do hope they will bring some ideas to you...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE4irzHIjHsY2VOMm6syK2boNfedX-GRKsmdAzFuL3j6X30sfAEjxi0sC4AzKBCFlCpQE-l6iXK4jPjWfDA6pLEhBZrZCERsltZ3V9hsGctCY7XPo0HbKhLcuK0nPa_-3r5p6Rqs1cEYGx/s1600/IMAG1419.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE4irzHIjHsY2VOMm6syK2boNfedX-GRKsmdAzFuL3j6X30sfAEjxi0sC4AzKBCFlCpQE-l6iXK4jPjWfDA6pLEhBZrZCERsltZ3V9hsGctCY7XPo0HbKhLcuK0nPa_-3r5p6Rqs1cEYGx/s320/IMAG1419.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have made the above blanket using a basic granny square stitch....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and random colour changes over 4 colours of yarn</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXKht1yugO8wyzOQxhUlZhCe0hVCy3_h-SLUkQTPJ6JJWV0TXKxO4hTccg6xT1DtwqhS1XKeuQt1BJCm5a-bfwSh5Itp4-iKRcCzoAm86HfEgdlWevNr8zES8XxzwGrCai1U3dmoCG8hGH/s1600/IMAG1422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXKht1yugO8wyzOQxhUlZhCe0hVCy3_h-SLUkQTPJ6JJWV0TXKxO4hTccg6xT1DtwqhS1XKeuQt1BJCm5a-bfwSh5Itp4-iKRcCzoAm86HfEgdlWevNr8zES8XxzwGrCai1U3dmoCG8hGH/s320/IMAG1422.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one is the same as above but more random colour changes </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
but a 1 row of cream thrown in here and there</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHCT3MVvVXDwvRaL_YoXMixkTz8hQGlv0gvV9sZ7eagM1_LpkR_0MQl_3W8Nf1yLCkhiPh3cHeUOMPNxhG0wc7pf9SGz1L3zFSCJkyy788uKNFnc_KNJGFALLYvhWRAt5AKrE7aW6YRP8E/s1600/IMAG1441.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHCT3MVvVXDwvRaL_YoXMixkTz8hQGlv0gvV9sZ7eagM1_LpkR_0MQl_3W8Nf1yLCkhiPh3cHeUOMPNxhG0wc7pf9SGz1L3zFSCJkyy788uKNFnc_KNJGFALLYvhWRAt5AKrE7aW6YRP8E/s320/IMAG1441.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a real summer bright blanket, which will be my lap/shoulder blanket this year</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is another simple stitch called the "V stitch" and 2 rows of each colour yarn</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVRyFY8F4TLZ6u5HlteQ6d31MBd2ccASHgfO9SQ8-jcRcTmIkGe8qb1cqTgFyNb9AV8Zu4OOkbrcNLPXTLYZczPZJSYxDHUN1uXIdZrywgUfYhBh7EvFOzDvaLrM_5B_okElZQCeAMJROJ/s1600/IMAG1461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVRyFY8F4TLZ6u5HlteQ6d31MBd2ccASHgfO9SQ8-jcRcTmIkGe8qb1cqTgFyNb9AV8Zu4OOkbrcNLPXTLYZczPZJSYxDHUN1uXIdZrywgUfYhBh7EvFOzDvaLrM_5B_okElZQCeAMJROJ/s320/IMAG1461.jpg" width="250" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also added a scalloped edge</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq6Vl5eAQHmAbebghoCbeOf3quzjKQX3SvNadEYqdHXFYN9_SdZJzTs3Jd8DsWLlmNMkfV7S9L6nrYYJ8W9XqIxpzt68i59c2Kjp3BxXwY4oQm_1u_3DXWs8M7HePXJs3jEKfF3geF08Y0/s1600/IMAG1462.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq6Vl5eAQHmAbebghoCbeOf3quzjKQX3SvNadEYqdHXFYN9_SdZJzTs3Jd8DsWLlmNMkfV7S9L6nrYYJ8W9XqIxpzt68i59c2Kjp3BxXwY4oQm_1u_3DXWs8M7HePXJs3jEKfF3geF08Y0/s320/IMAG1462.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are loads of patterns on the web</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I love just experimenting and trying random colour patterns.......</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and finally here are 2 pics of 2 works in progress blankets.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first is cream, pink and brown baby size blanket </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And second blanket is a stripy granny blanket </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
that will be for a double size bed/ large sofa</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I started with a canvas board and added die cuts, I can't tell you which lol as the DT had a die cut swap, but most of our dies are from Lisa so if you like this flower scroll die just pop on to Facebook and she will take a picture of the dies in her shop. Also don't forget, she runs an pigeon hole (I'm always calling it a piggy hole lol), this means you add items you want and pay at the end of the month when you get paid, how amazing is that, interest free :-) I also used a mask with some embossing paste for the leaves. Then I painted the whole thing with gesso then paints. Then I stamped the bottom with HP1009 stamp set, then the flowers and leaves were stamped on black card with paints, from the new set of stamps ELB01. I also used the grunge flower die from Paperartsy to used at the back of the flowers. To give it texture I wrapped fibers with wire for the stems. The saying was from the stamp set Flora and Fauna 6.<br />

<br />
I wanted to do a quick tutorial on paper piercing as I know it is something that some people have asked me what it is, So I thought what better way than to do a tutorial !<br />
<br />
Firstly you can paper pierce using rubber stamps or digi stamps, but for this tutorial I am using rubber.<br />
<br />
<br />
You need the following items-<br />
<br />
Stamp<br />
Card suitable for stamping<br />
Pens (if you are going to color your image)<br />
Ink pad...as I am using alcohol marks I use Memento<br />
Patterned/colored paper you want to use for piercing<br />
Adhesive...I would recommend a wet glue as this then allows for you too have a bit of movement when placing the pierced section.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBYmppdWK2TB3kgJcEhPOqdtoK0y7RXYapXMnp6cXNhIM9gbQzmlLDxvS0ZS4OSrer3rJk3eC5Rlnnn64YvCXk5oXSa83PotmZGAiAEfGxXr8dkn9cHMGQHXTvTOXXflwbIggiTaF3x1cQ/s1600/20130425_102148.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBYmppdWK2TB3kgJcEhPOqdtoK0y7RXYapXMnp6cXNhIM9gbQzmlLDxvS0ZS4OSrer3rJk3eC5Rlnnn64YvCXk5oXSa83PotmZGAiAEfGxXr8dkn9cHMGQHXTvTOXXflwbIggiTaF3x1cQ/s320/20130425_102148.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You need to stamp your image onto your plain card, and then onto the patterned paper..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you are coloring your image then do so.... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You then need to cut out the sections you wish to "pierce" I want to pierce her top on this stamp. You need to be careful and make sure you stick the stamped lines...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<br />

Then glue your sections onto the main image. I also like to add shading the pierced sections just to give it more depth. And there you have your finished paper pierced image. </div>

I
have made this canvas for my best friend as she is moving and is an
obsessive sewer!!! I added textured paste through a harlequin mask to
the corners and then mixed gesso and dusty concorde distress ink, and
painted over the canvas. I sprinkled aged wine frantage over the canvas
and heated it from underneath. stamps from the Sewing Room set from Visible Image<a href="http://www.blogger.com/null">
</a>were stamped in versafine and distress inks onto cotton fabric and
trimmed. I stamped the mannikin onto a double layer and sewed round it
before stuffing it to add dimension. I used the sewing stitches to add
detail to the edges of the canvas. I stamped the corset from Visible Image in dusty concorde distress ink and in versamark ink and frantaged it.<br />
<br />
You can get all the supplies to make this canvas, or one similar from Lisa ... either from the<span data-ft="{"tn":"K"}" id=".reactRoot[482].[1][2][1]{comment551021284928832_551027614928199}.0.[1].0.[1].0.[0].[0][2]"><span class="UFICommentBody" id=".reactRoot[482].[1][2][1]{comment551021284928832_551027614928199}.0.[1].0.[1].0.[0].[0][2].0"><span id=".reactRoot[482].[1][2][1]{comment551021284928832_551027614928199}.0.[1].0.[1].0.[0].[0][2].0.[0]"><a href="http://www.thatcraftplace.co.uk/"> shop</a> and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/271008489659989/">facebook group.</a> </span></span></span><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH3dcM_FLp70_9RYTJIFVFJiaOTp3yLtnUH9lJIEo3nIH7afOwrbWccMHe7GBrsqkjFplU8ZTnu125ah2B5ObgTbLoQKChfGmmnwlvRUvMU5gZ9zps10-YBl1FMsUj28HhknPb6WYyf0GF/s1600/P4100096.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="387" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH3dcM_FLp70_9RYTJIFVFJiaOTp3yLtnUH9lJIEo3nIH7afOwrbWccMHe7GBrsqkjFplU8ZTnu125ah2B5ObgTbLoQKChfGmmnwlvRUvMU5gZ9zps10-YBl1FMsUj28HhknPb6WYyf0GF/s400/P4100096.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Molly looks really sweet until you notice the teddy is headless!!! That got me thinking about zombie-fying Molly! I simply coloured her skin as I normall do and then went over using pastel biege promarker to give that undead look!! I added the stitching using marsh green promarker, but resisted adding any blood!! <br />
I
distressed round her using pumice stone distress ink. I stamped the
hearts from the Teen extra set
in versamark and then embossed them using hunter green frantage before
cutting them out. I used papers from MME pads and embossed the plain
one suing a Sizzix folder. To add texture, but keep that girly feel I
added jute raffia and a lace/pearl string. Finally I stamped the

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Morning everyone, it's Susan here with something I made for our <a href="http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/">current challenge</a>. The challenge theme is Animals and I wanted to get away from doing the usual card with an animal on it... So not wanting to make life easy for myself </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I decided to make a card game... yeah, I know, crazy huh!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><div style="text-align: center;">
I cut 16 ATC sized bits of card (2.5in by 3.5in) and stamped them with this cute little frog and rabbit stamps which are Docrafts Country Companions range.</div>
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I then coloured them with my Promarkers and inked round the edge of the cards with some DI and stamped little leaves round the edges of the cards too. There's also a handy little box to keep the pairs in. </span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><div style="text-align: center;">
I had hoped to get a photo of one of the boys playing the game but the answer was a resounding no!</div>
</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhU4GSfaMVbN2V-m69sdGEnVvgjIHLs6ZQihcEACbd_ObFQvY9RPbgJ2-fqBau-N8hTJpLOxfOZqijBYBZ7FowwcvfU3-V9_Su2sNcfcAAy-10ucyXlkXoc4B6BCKwzDvcctvDB8Ph4OuU/s1600/20130403_162024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhU4GSfaMVbN2V-m69sdGEnVvgjIHLs6ZQihcEACbd_ObFQvY9RPbgJ2-fqBau-N8hTJpLOxfOZqijBYBZ7FowwcvfU3-V9_Su2sNcfcAAy-10ucyXlkXoc4B6BCKwzDvcctvDB8Ph4OuU/s320/20130403_162024.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This handsome fella is called Edgar and was brilliant to color. And you can buy him from Lisa <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.410758595684977&type=1">Here</a><br />
The papers are Bazzill.<br />
The sentiment stamp is from Tom Holtz and was stamped using Versamark and then embossed using white embossing powder, I finished off with some ribbon and Embellished using Cosmic Shimmer Coloured glue....These stuff is FANTASTIC and I cannot recommend it enough, Lisa has lots of different colours, including glitters. Not only does it look great to embellish with, it is also a brilliant glue !<br />
<br />
Don't forget to stop by the <a href="http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/">Challenge blog</a> to join in this fortnights challenge, the theme is Animals (who doesn't have come animal stamps).<br />
Also if you are on Facebook join the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/271008489659989/">That Craft Place Group</a> where you can purchase all the yummy items that lisa stocks, talk to other crafters & also get change to win some yummy stash. <br />

Yesterday I showed you have to create backgrounds using a blending tool. Today we are going to get a little messier and use the "wet" technique!<br />
<br />
You will :<br />
<ul>
<li>distress inks </li>
<li>a water mister</li>
<li>smooth cardstock </li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifRj5IYLyLbLtOtS79VMKS24Q-NDA6YjWgg5D1w-5lK1zdKaG5HlzJ1N3eIOlZ7NKCRsVybzxZRZR5lWx45yRfuAr4jUtM5l1mY_lKjSVAQabRMWflv5Xe_OivJfP4PZr9kAFnao1G9s-0/s1600/P3190096.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifRj5IYLyLbLtOtS79VMKS24Q-NDA6YjWgg5D1w-5lK1zdKaG5HlzJ1N3eIOlZ7NKCRsVybzxZRZR5lWx45yRfuAr4jUtM5l1mY_lKjSVAQabRMWflv5Xe_OivJfP4PZr9kAFnao1G9s-0/s320/P3190096.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Swipe your ink pads onto your craft mat ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcSim58QddDzBIarNvBuKBYJ8uYPus_G7ziLzZSHGOc7_7_Pkd3J7ssgJhBHJGLekHQ6-SJStjMBkbr_Er5pkBtSrAbTo1K95FKK7U5fkuB8Sa2Kq3S8KD_ZoEiuchvK1QA4bLbUqVu2Ep/s1600/P3190100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcSim58QddDzBIarNvBuKBYJ8uYPus_G7ziLzZSHGOc7_7_Pkd3J7ssgJhBHJGLekHQ6-SJStjMBkbr_Er5pkBtSrAbTo1K95FKK7U5fkuB8Sa2Kq3S8KD_ZoEiuchvK1QA4bLbUqVu2Ep/s320/P3190100.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
then mist them to 'activate' them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFILnSIfdBRXbMRuP3rgcAS5Dv0_c-zwzDw4q9Hp42COm085aAE5utpzCDWt6v7_neK_T16lP5TBOepH6BnJtSBXLAf1lvOrV_Fe70Jjm5Am31TuhBQekPnczIFMupM0T4EdWq2pwe_V7k/s1600/P3190099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFILnSIfdBRXbMRuP3rgcAS5Dv0_c-zwzDw4q9Hp42COm085aAE5utpzCDWt6v7_neK_T16lP5TBOepH6BnJtSBXLAf1lvOrV_Fe70Jjm5Am31TuhBQekPnczIFMupM0T4EdWq2pwe_V7k/s320/P3190099.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Now swipe your cardstock through the inks in different directions.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVD9VdSu_3I4oR6tqPH721bBb1AOIRS-WHKDxmmRDOlaUvLeIk-WP5g4g-N-t_iV_ebJMCmPPHoDU47HZuLXMq7pmg3RlUzE04kZaCypLhhLThadDanz1CMGHti7q_8B7dYYGfZfw3H_Xk/s1600/P3190101.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVD9VdSu_3I4oR6tqPH721bBb1AOIRS-WHKDxmmRDOlaUvLeIk-WP5g4g-N-t_iV_ebJMCmPPHoDU47HZuLXMq7pmg3RlUzE04kZaCypLhhLThadDanz1CMGHti7q_8B7dYYGfZfw3H_Xk/s320/P3190101.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
You will get this effect ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5RjKDUiD5ZKFrHLT7Z5PRwjQp5kp-tx1Yzuw4Md6CULKUkdlEj5XnhfgydFNEz8hYcS8VH5OkXBorsY5_90FaIv3Lwy_nFU6xCHCeYq1A0pdOLoXdBInh7ym-rEDbnhZOtnJ2smbx9Bog/s1600/P3190102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5RjKDUiD5ZKFrHLT7Z5PRwjQp5kp-tx1Yzuw4Md6CULKUkdlEj5XnhfgydFNEz8hYcS8VH5OkXBorsY5_90FaIv3Lwy_nFU6xCHCeYq1A0pdOLoXdBInh7ym-rEDbnhZOtnJ2smbx9Bog/s320/P3190102.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Dry with a heat gun<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuXyj1ms4ijBZJe7r06wxauGX6RGRglokBPt-8V96nnCagGJgp7VM_zY0XUbfZ-hYvDwv6Ial6qUavw7K5Z7fL49RYSho7Gq6sC01YncYQIOvzFITn6MXAtp1W07U1KivAJdqHJevW7_lc/s1600/P3190103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuXyj1ms4ijBZJe7r06wxauGX6RGRglokBPt-8V96nnCagGJgp7VM_zY0XUbfZ-hYvDwv6Ial6qUavw7K5Z7fL49RYSho7Gq6sC01YncYQIOvzFITn6MXAtp1W07U1KivAJdqHJevW7_lc/s320/P3190103.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And repeat swiping through the ink until you get the effect you want. You may want to clean your mat and start with clean ink for each turn, depending on how muddy and mixed up the inks get.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV37nCjVelze0o4cUWvzL8JzRraQoXv_X0m7lPOlU0Q3lYJohA6sjK29c3TmzASh8ZAlOWnDple7LmbpOu6k-YqAzboFK-2IXazr2HezdeXVLqDObqVwZVh7GHgWY2PZOhsL9Habk0f_fV/s1600/P3190104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV37nCjVelze0o4cUWvzL8JzRraQoXv_X0m7lPOlU0Q3lYJohA6sjK29c3TmzASh8ZAlOWnDple7LmbpOu6k-YqAzboFK-2IXazr2HezdeXVLqDObqVwZVh7GHgWY2PZOhsL9Habk0f_fV/s320/P3190104.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And you can use this technique to stain ribbon and seam binding ... <br />
I swiped black soot and aged mahogany onto my mat, and sprayed with water.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiholfuRAoNZAVaMyjVOQ074l6fxge6GqmmexkF7VZPeGVWn5A-T6Rrdx8nWWAUmSyqT1V_GqqOWknUZyI9262orx6zd0msS8koduOWyDXgYPvJH8iDoT7o_EOYyy7g6yQZ2gzHrv3CdiPa/s1600/P3190108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiholfuRAoNZAVaMyjVOQ074l6fxge6GqmmexkF7VZPeGVWn5A-T6Rrdx8nWWAUmSyqT1V_GqqOWknUZyI9262orx6zd0msS8koduOWyDXgYPvJH8iDoT7o_EOYyy7g6yQZ2gzHrv3CdiPa/s320/P3190108.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I misted the seam binding and scrunched it through the ink and dried it off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7QbQCAzUSWSRd0lD3kJcSguLtHtdoLE6-l7dWIetvUMEYGvSLnNmp4-Ip04L9Tco9BsOceLxng8wefnbKdB-THgSLA9MYLPrQ45gEx8VE6-q2OaYPeuScGTd4bXP4gWGcUiqdjOtWgwKl/s1600/P3190110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7QbQCAzUSWSRd0lD3kJcSguLtHtdoLE6-l7dWIetvUMEYGvSLnNmp4-Ip04L9Tco9BsOceLxng8wefnbKdB-THgSLA9MYLPrQ45gEx8VE6-q2OaYPeuScGTd4bXP4gWGcUiqdjOtWgwKl/s320/P3190110.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is the card I made ... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnGyNdWdKk3ayS4TCoPnOH6rg2sF2P9PHVsG3w2l0OxeEOz-LOJIR8ose_6qwT6e2T_QLCOfd5MPxyok3j9Pu6-J1hGEAPD9MJ0gO3Rv6z6DVnyK5o9osKGrXaSfqDAUWi9Qk2hR-rOW4f/s1600/P3190111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnGyNdWdKk3ayS4TCoPnOH6rg2sF2P9PHVsG3w2l0OxeEOz-LOJIR8ose_6qwT6e2T_QLCOfd5MPxyok3j9Pu6-J1hGEAPD9MJ0gO3Rv6z6DVnyK5o9osKGrXaSfqDAUWi9Qk2hR-rOW4f/s320/P3190111.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I used Men's Collage from Visible Image, and ghost stamped Visible image crackled background over the distressed background. I added webbing, the stained seam binding and a cog charm which I stained with alcohol inks.<br />
<br />
And here is another tag I created using the spring and summer limited edition Distress Inks. The background as created as above, dried and then stamped over with crackled background and retro dots background stamps from Visible Image, and then the Visible Image butterflies were stamped over in versafine ink, as was the Visible image sentiment.I then stamped a couple of the butterflies in the distress inks, cut out and popped onto 3d foam pads. The seam binding was coloured as described above.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And it is a really easy technique to master - if i can do it anyone can!!<br />
<br />
You need a few basic items to start:-<br />
<ul>
<li>distress inks (although you can also try airondack inks)</li>
<li>cut and dry foam, or a blending tool and the foam pads, or brushes</li>
<li>smooth cardstock</li>
</ul>
<br />
I used smooth cardstock and cut a tag. I love my blending tool, and the foam pads are re-useable, just wash them clean after use.<br />
The inks I used for this tag were Vcitorian Velvet, vintage photo, frayed burlap and faded jeans.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguDxac5Jg5oGxnKSQuAyli-TmoLWQLE-rce87Hs8D4a-s3iclNMlMp1RR9zBN83V5WF2fYRbgxH1kN5bhyphenhyphent-JkvxWF791biKbCjESBI460a96oOAU8hibduWHiGEaojMeQZ3K_04bFI4Md/s1600/distress+ink+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguDxac5Jg5oGxnKSQuAyli-TmoLWQLE-rce87Hs8D4a-s3iclNMlMp1RR9zBN83V5WF2fYRbgxH1kN5bhyphenhyphent-JkvxWF791biKbCjESBI460a96oOAU8hibduWHiGEaojMeQZ3K_04bFI4Md/s400/distress+ink+1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I started with the VIctorian Velvet and inked up the foam pad. In order to get a softer look, start circling the ink on youtr craft mat, working onto the cardstock. You get a much smoother look by circling, and as some of the ink is taken off you get a softer look. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY_aRhCzL5uZBcyyGwbU7S_Hs0fScl3x1W3hdpD3et643yXm-gtKkBx2QnERcRuRNTcBJvslIXtJ4i_gYB7Us8UIzOuBHTquaXlVtVmG73rjl9xmkK2JkMEqFCVVggqeKRlNpYOtt5jgJd/s1600/distress+ink+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY_aRhCzL5uZBcyyGwbU7S_Hs0fScl3x1W3hdpD3et643yXm-gtKkBx2QnERcRuRNTcBJvslIXtJ4i_gYB7Us8UIzOuBHTquaXlVtVmG73rjl9xmkK2JkMEqFCVVggqeKRlNpYOtt5jgJd/s400/distress+ink+2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
You continue building up the colour, moving round the tag, and going over the areas you have covered until you get the depth of colour you want.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWYyOna1qSBGINjjeJSHdLxO791UyBwf1iTetVYQHfR7GaX-fWPYTJG6YICpGH3ylcldNa0rst7QEe92Uou9Z9oed8EZ_aok0DdppDoO_2ft7h5ik-ZwrTD2lqv9b9h3u0bo2bl4DoYKx_/s1600/distress+ink+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWYyOna1qSBGINjjeJSHdLxO791UyBwf1iTetVYQHfR7GaX-fWPYTJG6YICpGH3ylcldNa0rst7QEe92Uou9Z9oed8EZ_aok0DdppDoO_2ft7h5ik-ZwrTD2lqv9b9h3u0bo2bl4DoYKx_/s400/distress+ink+3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I made the corners and bottom darker than the middle of the tag. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZwxDKpVXGrPPt1OAS3tQ8x0Q5QPUU0yfz0ZHjsipgJrxj-NUMTPHtR7umC6r5X_GwkeSxG1aC-fAG6McB-5xb-Gb174c3BL4VO50LTPGtqA7uyQzAv8fo42Xnjz_sJuCkRTxFbZs73oU/s1600/distress+ink+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZwxDKpVXGrPPt1OAS3tQ8x0Q5QPUU0yfz0ZHjsipgJrxj-NUMTPHtR7umC6r5X_GwkeSxG1aC-fAG6McB-5xb-Gb174c3BL4VO50LTPGtqA7uyQzAv8fo42Xnjz_sJuCkRTxFbZs73oU/s400/distress+ink+4.JPG" width="283" /></a></div>
I then took the faded jeans pad, and repeated the process, focussing on the top of the tag. Again, I started circling the blending tool on the craft mat to make sure I didn't get blotches of colour. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZMsvykPtDMVyrTVTgQ1yLxSGMK_cFreAPrm-iIwfPU7qcL37I-Oj6LgrDg6NRDzX0058JIH3_VU3LcX1Xlfn3SWuktJWBjtY4fsMjVluqc6Jd-7Tl4rd1Z24OF5TC7voFcENBqEsXtmAg/s1600/distress+ink+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZMsvykPtDMVyrTVTgQ1yLxSGMK_cFreAPrm-iIwfPU7qcL37I-Oj6LgrDg6NRDzX0058JIH3_VU3LcX1Xlfn3SWuktJWBjtY4fsMjVluqc6Jd-7Tl4rd1Z24OF5TC7voFcENBqEsXtmAg/s400/distress+ink+5.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
You will find that you leave finger marks on the ink when you are turning the tag - to prevent this use a peice of card and put it over the ink and hold the tag down - if that makes sense!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYsnBIpQh5FvCgElJbW1oDmKZ6aZoB_5lzz_6Lyjed-6AXCfZq97tSfmo_wcnYuZgOvB5o3WXky9gqNwIk4FwInWxnWdl-RagtHWVSQUN403aVPupMvCgCEAj8TlnpUMdYH4_veF9prJdn/s1600/distress+ink+6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYsnBIpQh5FvCgElJbW1oDmKZ6aZoB_5lzz_6Lyjed-6AXCfZq97tSfmo_wcnYuZgOvB5o3WXky9gqNwIk4FwInWxnWdl-RagtHWVSQUN403aVPupMvCgCEAj8TlnpUMdYH4_veF9prJdn/s400/distress+ink+6.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
So here is the tag, having been distressed .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGqmGKga7ooUGOGwTeNIMP1d9OGR4Qy9JNJA7TRpf05YuXZAp34ZFJG0a62_OuOg1SVpDCCfZ1ff5dv8VAYsKAgZHcFXyDmJH28LQoQZQsGTgVYgAeVGDRfM2s9fJAyvxSVX_FY5krxwk/s1600/distress+ink+7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFGqmGKga7ooUGOGwTeNIMP1d9OGR4Qy9JNJA7TRpf05YuXZAp34ZFJG0a62_OuOg1SVpDCCfZ1ff5dv8VAYsKAgZHcFXyDmJH28LQoQZQsGTgVYgAeVGDRfM2s9fJAyvxSVX_FY5krxwk/s400/distress+ink+7.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Now i wnt to make the edges darker, so I repeated the process using vintage photo ink, just round the edges, repeating over the parts I wanted darker. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmqyhMZ4PemQcBCxExQ-GRZibtG6N5tEGsVsFQMqbU9A5vCrLaYmmJT1fwwAmvgmlyxM18Tywj-ozjgdpVBczlfi0X7O0zss3TgobadGIAMuq5G1tzt_R68ImqdSJuGpCNKXmEfpokXbM-/s1600/distress+ink+9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmqyhMZ4PemQcBCxExQ-GRZibtG6N5tEGsVsFQMqbU9A5vCrLaYmmJT1fwwAmvgmlyxM18Tywj-ozjgdpVBczlfi0X7O0zss3TgobadGIAMuq5G1tzt_R68ImqdSJuGpCNKXmEfpokXbM-/s400/distress+ink+9.JPG" width="248" /></a></div>
You can see how I have circled the tool, so I get a blended edge to the colours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXHNGOpskMU4y5vGLEUjP1JL8HXOzPOZIJNLPhvh1aoXn13wOQcx4s51pRkmzy0yazmWjQnFHbA8ZcyzOhbipoE3Kx-rAGgtkoO0DUGyhyphenhyphenr7LxSyXo_NOkYaJhlsefktpkMemm79gWDHB5/s1600/distress+ink+8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXHNGOpskMU4y5vGLEUjP1JL8HXOzPOZIJNLPhvh1aoXn13wOQcx4s51pRkmzy0yazmWjQnFHbA8ZcyzOhbipoE3Kx-rAGgtkoO0DUGyhyphenhyphenr7LxSyXo_NOkYaJhlsefktpkMemm79gWDHB5/s400/distress+ink+8.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can dry the inks off between colours using a heat gun. I personally prefer to leave them wet as you get a smoother blending of colours in my opinion. And remember they will dry slightly lighter than they look when you first put them on.<br />
<br />
I finished the tag off by stamping Visible Image butterflies and vintage photo and victorian velvet, and Visible Image tall grass in frayed burlap.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I wanted to share with you how to make a different background using tissue paper, inks & embossing powder.<br />
<br />
<br />
Take a piece of plain tissue paper and roughly cut to the size you need..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZcVs18Pp4V0RfacX4qebCJwQMWw3CjnUj33FzQR9bJJfx-rHCxwsaf3VzqVDoPCDV7aOZay4LdsF-hW-S1LJztUGYBE-TIoJRFUCw5MU8kDNXuSrKwIx9mnIzG2aK7TWIrmOdZDa9y_bx/s1600/20130320_133328.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZcVs18Pp4V0RfacX4qebCJwQMWw3CjnUj33FzQR9bJJfx-rHCxwsaf3VzqVDoPCDV7aOZay4LdsF-hW-S1LJztUGYBE-TIoJRFUCw5MU8kDNXuSrKwIx9mnIzG2aK7TWIrmOdZDa9y_bx/s320/20130320_133328.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next scrunch into a ball, I do it into a fairly tight ball as I like lots of texture..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicquodRDVTiknO8a60acxab35-rRMcq1sIGmczbtbgvukkHtpQ6ODDxR8Z7yyckd4TJB4VBUJBfbl9Ru0DDkNrYat0-k-7Vvh95DGGPTUUhK2jqgw7feDTOmzwyeSWbKhoyz0PyuoXVnZe/s1600/20130320_133356.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicquodRDVTiknO8a60acxab35-rRMcq1sIGmczbtbgvukkHtpQ6ODDxR8Z7yyckd4TJB4VBUJBfbl9Ru0DDkNrYat0-k-7Vvh95DGGPTUUhK2jqgw7feDTOmzwyeSWbKhoyz0PyuoXVnZe/s320/20130320_133356.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now taking distress ink go over the tissue paper, the reason to do this is otherwise you end up with the whiteness of the tissue paper, I have used Tea dye, but change the colour to match whatever colour embossing powder you want to use...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpLvxBefHRxRgfxbrEiyaT-sJNJKNcg7P1pvhNE73Zd8QeKwy8MNdpEN1niyZHord5igAEgE_7ms61bZ_MXDaWG8K5FNEqeKswCRJx4CHjcl45-AE-eTUbnfRauDd3Fqh5moSvnbnDmxd/s1600/20130320_133411.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbpLvxBefHRxRgfxbrEiyaT-sJNJKNcg7P1pvhNE73Zd8QeKwy8MNdpEN1niyZHord5igAEgE_7ms61bZ_MXDaWG8K5FNEqeKswCRJx4CHjcl45-AE-eTUbnfRauDd3Fqh5moSvnbnDmxd/s320/20130320_133411.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next I very roughly went over the tissue paper with a gold/bronze pigment ink, this will allow the embossing powder to stick and will also add extra depth...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRYFGIhkYG7JjYvzBZTCwkWYK2hp3WKUYIUJZDh3L4QEz93VRE04Eyfdb_22NV2OmznlNvbmZQjKu6iW0QFcJs6XiFiraq16-8ycRkpHx_tY_BRVweeQOQZ2mLz7tFVqav5FhQpB69OxhQ/s1600/20130320_133737.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRYFGIhkYG7JjYvzBZTCwkWYK2hp3WKUYIUJZDh3L4QEz93VRE04Eyfdb_22NV2OmznlNvbmZQjKu6iW0QFcJs6XiFiraq16-8ycRkpHx_tY_BRVweeQOQZ2mLz7tFVqav5FhQpB69OxhQ/s320/20130320_133737.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is what the tissue paper now looks like...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT1Ak73AyoGSEvUiJCmjuuwb57ZkLRFS61UD52BRxTMa4tKY108JbbbOF_ZmrLsbaIsMZRt1MGXO-sFy0G14bj4w0cr9St_DGXQjBhMA0-U4HNbyuphTJqmjvQMzh7VqUJV3ambiTtfeFe/s1600/20130320_133926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT1Ak73AyoGSEvUiJCmjuuwb57ZkLRFS61UD52BRxTMa4tKY108JbbbOF_ZmrLsbaIsMZRt1MGXO-sFy0G14bj4w0cr9St_DGXQjBhMA0-U4HNbyuphTJqmjvQMzh7VqUJV3ambiTtfeFe/s320/20130320_133926.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next add your embossing powder, I used a bronze embossing powder, but you can of course use any colour, and this looks brilliant with some of the embossing fragments that Lisa sells...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv4mj2I6wh75LYiPJ_vRyUyfgDL6ZGA1p9mkwUhWcocvwn3oDLy6jdsSp35N-dBG6WcPyhGu7Jnbh6qu25dK_ac7cMGCm228P5oZWIRvjIQrCKKn9gzZpqbFCTmXL-4JsJsdScLUw4BRw-/s1600/20130320_134050.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv4mj2I6wh75LYiPJ_vRyUyfgDL6ZGA1p9mkwUhWcocvwn3oDLy6jdsSp35N-dBG6WcPyhGu7Jnbh6qu25dK_ac7cMGCm228P5oZWIRvjIQrCKKn9gzZpqbFCTmXL-4JsJsdScLUw4BRw-/s320/20130320_134050.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Using a heatgun VERY carefully melt the embossing powder, make sure you keep the heatgun moving, and that you keep it a little bit further away than normal due to how thin tissue paper is. You will then have your finished item...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg68P8uJ6u14bxvDnycehAVb2C3RKl9ACZpY5EFqPtujRRfpDs_UELEaq1zYW9V66p_6HyNjTUqoDAD3DZx3tE3cZPHwVjLxt7vqM3BEGy5pER56flwU_cKG-S_m1LexKSI5dZ0Pb_IzdpL/s1600/20130320_134422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg68P8uJ6u14bxvDnycehAVb2C3RKl9ACZpY5EFqPtujRRfpDs_UELEaq1zYW9V66p_6HyNjTUqoDAD3DZx3tE3cZPHwVjLxt7vqM3BEGy5pER56flwU_cKG-S_m1LexKSI5dZ0Pb_IzdpL/s320/20130320_134422.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
And this is it used on a card....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1xnvqlU-ssgbzwhXpZCYtyzAgqSJYNfmflH9cWXJ5w8Q0lRbp2XoDDpIBO8-p6dFUFUTK3dvzLhNV7PSAm_lLDjNdjH-SmGiG_mojnn2EgUll5cBx6gGlybtKTKpbzpn__4RKeq7wUAz7/s1600/20130320_140716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1xnvqlU-ssgbzwhXpZCYtyzAgqSJYNfmflH9cWXJ5w8Q0lRbp2XoDDpIBO8-p6dFUFUTK3dvzLhNV7PSAm_lLDjNdjH-SmGiG_mojnn2EgUll5cBx6gGlybtKTKpbzpn__4RKeq7wUAz7/s320/20130320_140716.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is a very different look that could be used in so many ways.<br />
The stamp I have used it Visable Image Isabella, and she is available from Lisa, as is the seam binding and card.<br />
<br />

And don't forget, there is also a <a href="http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/">That Craft Place challenge</a> every fortnight - you can find it <a href="http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/">HERE</a>.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-900123939822182117.post-89368153498215771002013-03-19T07:00:00.000+00:002013-03-19T07:00:14.246+00:00Technique Tuesday - Shrink PlasticLisa thought it would be a great idea to have techniques day - Tuesday seems to work!! So on a Tuesday we will be posting techniques for you to try out.<br />
<br />
This time we are looking at Shrink Plastic - it is not as scary as you may think HONEST!!!<br />
<br />
A few things/tips about shrink plastic - <br />
<ul>
<li>You can get it in transparent, white or black - I like to use the transparent as you can see through it when you stamp on to it. </li>
<li>you need to 'prime' it before you start working with it - basically sand the surface done so the ink has something to 'grip' onto. </li>
<li>If you are colouring onto it remember that the colours will deepen as the plastic shrinks, so don't be worried if it looks pale when you have coloured it.</li>
<li>stazon seems to work best on shrink plastic, it 'sets' better than versafine or memento - but if you leave them to dry for along time they can be used</li>
<li>you can put it through your printer and so use digi images if you want </li>
<li>punch any holes you want in it BEFORE you shrink it!</li>
</ul>
<br />
So here are a couple of ideas for you to try to get you started:<br />
<br />
I like to use the clear plastic as it means you can create charms so this is the plastic I use ... <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRdaJP0Fnr19gOoZ5ZEibHGLpTvz_b7rUZqmN4uxWwQV-4A2BEfY1MB1duOEia1X4bsZWqQPeQXcYMrSrkCthWfAt8rE6-lG_cZvhONxTk0EfKGYQT2n0LKEVGn8dIfsPM-UDrR_yrYGBe/s1600/P3120103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRdaJP0Fnr19gOoZ5ZEibHGLpTvz_b7rUZqmN4uxWwQV-4A2BEfY1MB1duOEia1X4bsZWqQPeQXcYMrSrkCthWfAt8rE6-lG_cZvhONxTk0EfKGYQT2n0LKEVGn8dIfsPM-UDrR_yrYGBe/s400/P3120103.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
The first thing you need ot do is 'prime' your plastic using a sanding block. I tend to go over it all horizontally and then vertically. Wipe it thoroughly clean. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4Z6Nu-jXvo3lkAhWm1JHZjtFnfM5qjo-IhT4Mqkkd207SXNTYGTO_cbuUNcau1ykFs4a60uQxQ_JiaZDsSwB4D9xwhjjnYfXyekDaT7NhTR7EK60rmaMRvWYlfLWuV8qM5yFzMAyyt4S/s1600/P3120104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4Z6Nu-jXvo3lkAhWm1JHZjtFnfM5qjo-IhT4Mqkkd207SXNTYGTO_cbuUNcau1ykFs4a60uQxQ_JiaZDsSwB4D9xwhjjnYfXyekDaT7NhTR7EK60rmaMRvWYlfLWuV8qM5yFzMAyyt4S/s400/P3120104.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamp in stazon, and pretty much anything goes ..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-l3kFrWnkeLcs4RM_ZVKe6j0Dg5Gl_BZqc31YZ__O4qJl4LKMq8ZaqxB9tkfV1brchcqtKuhA4ziy8UEQvhs_K9AsrU1mU0rBNlWg3sJvxCaKPrisxzr58rTbcw6_JElw3nw95gnbRFn_/s1600/P3120105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-l3kFrWnkeLcs4RM_ZVKe6j0Dg5Gl_BZqc31YZ__O4qJl4LKMq8ZaqxB9tkfV1brchcqtKuhA4ziy8UEQvhs_K9AsrU1mU0rBNlWg3sJvxCaKPrisxzr58rTbcw6_JElw3nw95gnbRFn_/s400/P3120105.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I stamped 2 feathers and cut them put.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7ZploOTvgHLO1AaHhQXzSs02NVc29l8KmhrMZOitIuriJG5_zGoXJdOdH8-BKGkyo-Zcyspc9cgcFQpCsZtdlFrZc4RGrMW-ZehrIq5zMbU8-HgnQvF4sgkic3zNQpgM0oc6M7Y_uaUh/s1600/P3120106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7ZploOTvgHLO1AaHhQXzSs02NVc29l8KmhrMZOitIuriJG5_zGoXJdOdH8-BKGkyo-Zcyspc9cgcFQpCsZtdlFrZc4RGrMW-ZehrIq5zMbU8-HgnQvF4sgkic3zNQpgM0oc6M7Y_uaUh/s400/P3120106.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I punch any holes I want into it - make them big as they will shrink too! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNz6tbiNGS_pAnSjHtbZWDdBCVTEL_e1zSzkYLaulwW8X2bGLelO_RRD5PCB_dA051N6pKkUWQt32IAuBSMTXDejRREh4ZS283JWru3Y_04m7I1sDV3iMXmTanlwAbxMjYwRoakG5ghH09/s1600/P3120107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNz6tbiNGS_pAnSjHtbZWDdBCVTEL_e1zSzkYLaulwW8X2bGLelO_RRD5PCB_dA051N6pKkUWQt32IAuBSMTXDejRREh4ZS283JWru3Y_04m7I1sDV3iMXmTanlwAbxMjYwRoakG5ghH09/s400/P3120107.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Then heat it using a heat gun. Or you can put them in the oven, there are temperature instructions in the pack. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWzy25z4pgdhyphenhyphenN9VOyIkOadlsMCOcR6YRYEk_J2W5GxZtjnwnbRYc_sv1i0tnVbVj-f26B2j2_fOHTJcL7Mmh1bCIsfioc-g4DtwQSkQhpHtnT12IYsUVkLexDEm473tB6RqSTljjNQHfX/s1600/P3120108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWzy25z4pgdhyphenhyphenN9VOyIkOadlsMCOcR6YRYEk_J2W5GxZtjnwnbRYc_sv1i0tnVbVj-f26B2j2_fOHTJcL7Mmh1bCIsfioc-g4DtwQSkQhpHtnT12IYsUVkLexDEm473tB6RqSTljjNQHfX/s400/P3120108.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Now this is the scary bit - as it heats and shrinks the plastic will curl. DO NOT PANIC!!!! Just keep heating it and it should all uncurl and flatten out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwDzVZ1U3R1egYzvLT-6H7Exv91KFmncR5GNAdNKfSchKhORkrWgYDDqZXhia0DKpMHh94A-Vr73aPZvUJRYUtVU-wtbizt_XGof4klokuAMCVr2DfMW1GnwdiWUVJ0xAmBirMWr380ZMt/s1600/P3120109.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwDzVZ1U3R1egYzvLT-6H7Exv91KFmncR5GNAdNKfSchKhORkrWgYDDqZXhia0DKpMHh94A-Vr73aPZvUJRYUtVU-wtbizt_XGof4klokuAMCVr2DfMW1GnwdiWUVJ0xAmBirMWr380ZMt/s320/P3120109.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
See!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0ebsR-hU85EAzVQRlEQg39fOgAIRFb2U-_PAdpqw5GnXR99T32l2NywG9-sVylpZ5AtNPnfoUemsEEaYkZJfXrhbrIjK-kwHlbPk8fZF1nA38YoMtbi1NFm_ZOB7ktaC_DSCmkI-8lfqK/s1600/P3120110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0ebsR-hU85EAzVQRlEQg39fOgAIRFb2U-_PAdpqw5GnXR99T32l2NywG9-sVylpZ5AtNPnfoUemsEEaYkZJfXrhbrIjK-kwHlbPk8fZF1nA38YoMtbi1NFm_ZOB7ktaC_DSCmkI-8lfqK/s320/P3120110.JPG" width="276" /></a></div>
And here is what I did with it them - they are feather charms for the card. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdZfiM7NVSzLzQNl8k1ieVXtpi8b9j_Si0PzMHQ3TOHzTV0dxsAA2kNCJaHaLWdoK_6LFtY5uje1EL4F15ZczYlCHz5ByNSDoYt7kLYQlLRM_fm9W36QjD4fJT4-91uKRf7kVJvcTddtA-/s1600/VI+Edgar+shrinkie+feathers.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdZfiM7NVSzLzQNl8k1ieVXtpi8b9j_Si0PzMHQ3TOHzTV0dxsAA2kNCJaHaLWdoK_6LFtY5uje1EL4F15ZczYlCHz5ByNSDoYt7kLYQlLRM_fm9W36QjD4fJT4-91uKRf7kVJvcTddtA-/s400/VI+Edgar+shrinkie+feathers.JPG" width="381" /></a></div>
The image is Visible Image Edgar, the feather is fom their Free your Imagination set, the papers are Prima Engraving. The flourish is a Tim Holtz one, covered in frantage shabby wine, and heated.<br />
<br />
<br />
And here is another quick idea ...<br />
<br />
Using your primed shrinkie and a flower die and alcohol inks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvEeg8NvSUNbLqg5R1r9GlSd2Tpd8MTPpSRpLmcT0j1HUoo__pODCH3TP8C7J9PM13sEyQavfaKAGs17f2cWzM6DxD2MJtmDjHXkRRYxHsQebQKNW8BPU8Y4VElDIjE1Nl-rrpsvSHrhP_/s1600/photo(7).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvEeg8NvSUNbLqg5R1r9GlSd2Tpd8MTPpSRpLmcT0j1HUoo__pODCH3TP8C7J9PM13sEyQavfaKAGs17f2cWzM6DxD2MJtmDjHXkRRYxHsQebQKNW8BPU8Y4VElDIjE1Nl-rrpsvSHrhP_/s400/photo(7).JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Cut your flowers out and before taking them out of the shrink plastic colour them using alcohol inks - it is less messy leaving them in situ!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-3uueyTIsMwjuwFeab39T1WkoeO_0xhKeiV8o_yB4EuRABhCAFvqTEfqqPDQmGIT9CxnoteIkMzXImzXM4twW_QZtOD5hX7RmHX25g124nqgtr1EpWuVopAXDfaz5Tqe5RTKgjQiuBNL8/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-3uueyTIsMwjuwFeab39T1WkoeO_0xhKeiV8o_yB4EuRABhCAFvqTEfqqPDQmGIT9CxnoteIkMzXImzXM4twW_QZtOD5hX7RmHX25g124nqgtr1EpWuVopAXDfaz5Tqe5RTKgjQiuBNL8/s400/photo.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Punch any holes you want - I am going to layer these up so I punched the holes in the centres.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih_JhQ0nYNr3y-h2TSxqHp2RmgJdFusUuwIWYT30c-T8aYM6O98KP3WRGuAEV-vi2naARwwEUtLTizhk42CabyK_lwnWqhP_HkrZB2R6MUFn5QEVba7l6wF7gygn7OToqBB85U6-evyPlR/s1600/photo(6).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih_JhQ0nYNr3y-h2TSxqHp2RmgJdFusUuwIWYT30c-T8aYM6O98KP3WRGuAEV-vi2naARwwEUtLTizhk42CabyK_lwnWqhP_HkrZB2R6MUFn5QEVba7l6wF7gygn7OToqBB85U6-evyPlR/s400/photo(6).JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Now shrink ...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvh66UdfD8-F0UIhyOYZpqHfQQt5BZZ98G0Q-1y4Zou_5GLmuWv6EW2JQf3OZxpp0C3rKnzm92XM92bHL3v9KIbfWN5N_KmRnIidMdD6RyHJfaRI7-6dwRmjy5aXR_DEUMcw8PT5OT-GuY/s1600/photo(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvh66UdfD8-F0UIhyOYZpqHfQQt5BZZ98G0Q-1y4Zou_5GLmuWv6EW2JQf3OZxpp0C3rKnzm92XM92bHL3v9KIbfWN5N_KmRnIidMdD6RyHJfaRI7-6dwRmjy5aXR_DEUMcw8PT5OT-GuY/s400/photo(3).JPG" width="335" /></a></div>
I only wanted these three ...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_U4FuWvxomGrsi98tKm6ueGnQ_wnEuWGttIDgp8zGWH4A9YREUjkmqpRROlCNrwlAUwkgzvoy8JKeQ6qR9OH5Vgi1YZrD9N5XRQ-wvPBBJZNOzZKJXmMB1bqo7vvE76lFWI5mzV9JVKpY/s1600/photo(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_U4FuWvxomGrsi98tKm6ueGnQ_wnEuWGttIDgp8zGWH4A9YREUjkmqpRROlCNrwlAUwkgzvoy8JKeQ6qR9OH5Vgi1YZrD9N5XRQ-wvPBBJZNOzZKJXmMB1bqo7vvE76lFWI5mzV9JVKpY/s400/photo(1).JPG" width="371" /></a></div>
And I layered them together using a brad ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPZFu5bWGl8_gAIrAB62Jdeie_5wsuAQpaK2nBkDvIT-2RQmssK4EMNj-QO2iCdkkXak4VfSrFSMfthOPueQzBt-dCRVYr4ogUq5QIdE_yDGRHYLLg1SOwlTizHkwwYP4bofjaAoJA37CZ/s1600/photo(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPZFu5bWGl8_gAIrAB62Jdeie_5wsuAQpaK2nBkDvIT-2RQmssK4EMNj-QO2iCdkkXak4VfSrFSMfthOPueQzBt-dCRVYr4ogUq5QIdE_yDGRHYLLg1SOwlTizHkwwYP4bofjaAoJA37CZ/s400/photo(2).JPG" width="371" /></a></div>
Then I took a metal tag availabel from the shop, ran it through an embossing folder, covered it in alcohol inks and added the flower. Even the seam binding has been stained using the alcohol inks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3unqkyk68nT9guIkiZSD5r1usQFZFWTaqed3tXhtSzBgy9xot3lplYkhgZ_lRaowmV-yjz_uJwhU-JrAoxm60kz5p1VSi4q6FjDneh0rx7FvIe7EFSFl_ly4XnxdXhsSW2-fmG1tsLvWR/s1600/Alcohol+ink+tag+and+shrinkie+flower.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3unqkyk68nT9guIkiZSD5r1usQFZFWTaqed3tXhtSzBgy9xot3lplYkhgZ_lRaowmV-yjz_uJwhU-JrAoxm60kz5p1VSi4q6FjDneh0rx7FvIe7EFSFl_ly4XnxdXhsSW2-fmG1tsLvWR/s400/Alcohol+ink+tag+and+shrinkie+flower.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And the children can have fun - school bag charms made by Ellie and her friend... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR_Ss2dTTzvMPyjKLGXgHmqesa68p6SK_QRJvDJBOfPGog3wERCHIdEDgC9y7YX4mV9vwItmKZOwfcIklwS0w7_O6gyhu68klKrKXxjzOOC1yw3lHbgGi5cSp9amrT7VKv26xH8w33lroI/s1600/P9180177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR_Ss2dTTzvMPyjKLGXgHmqesa68p6SK_QRJvDJBOfPGog3wERCHIdEDgC9y7YX4mV9vwItmKZOwfcIklwS0w7_O6gyhu68klKrKXxjzOOC1yw3lHbgGi5cSp9amrT7VKv26xH8w33lroI/s1600/P9180177.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
And Easter key rings made from my Gran when Ellie and Beth were younger. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggrWmP_5HAl2-CT3X_bZ2SgQ6IbzEnQA7iQmAlFO4lyhn5KkawxvG2dj7pDLpIXX20IOn1hGsJCF5H9-yL2nEeYR3BPzWbDQU5eG60ctpR0I1_hiAerZkZyQmKfUoxddrEIMLjac6GIy7F/s1600/shrink+pstic+key+ring+charms.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggrWmP_5HAl2-CT3X_bZ2SgQ6IbzEnQA7iQmAlFO4lyhn5KkawxvG2dj7pDLpIXX20IOn1hGsJCF5H9-yL2nEeYR3BPzWbDQU5eG60ctpR0I1_hiAerZkZyQmKfUoxddrEIMLjac6GIy7F/s320/shrink+pstic+key+ring+charms.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />

Here I will try to explain how my little bird box became a pretty altered creation, just ready for some Lavender or Pot Pourri... or even a key holder if I had added hooks!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw75xQ-NOxX4JXx4n5ncuMxg851uYdtzd2DR8RoqOI7BkhUo-_iqcg-4naiIxV7zI7vPDOH6XNcsxKmXHDxzxyzBdGIPymHdE2FXP4pfDVSA84i6_1H5v1H1DNCurb5S4XlKFdewojM9nP/s1600/DSC03181.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw75xQ-NOxX4JXx4n5ncuMxg851uYdtzd2DR8RoqOI7BkhUo-_iqcg-4naiIxV7zI7vPDOH6XNcsxKmXHDxzxyzBdGIPymHdE2FXP4pfDVSA84i6_1H5v1H1DNCurb5S4XlKFdewojM9nP/s320/DSC03181.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the finished project, and nearly all the elements used are available at Lisa's shop, I will list what I used as I go:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXNoreUbQOBrSmbz6QL2zZAMBmBqd-umt33JCqftWaGstm84-5KrDDSpi2dvz4Jg_LEuO9DHRmpZbLxPKEreakJ8cls4hNh1hhZwTMHtPKG0cr7h3FeJUwh62E4-_RmhswcBSjdCyqAzja/s1600/DSC03161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXNoreUbQOBrSmbz6QL2zZAMBmBqd-umt33JCqftWaGstm84-5KrDDSpi2dvz4Jg_LEuO9DHRmpZbLxPKEreakJ8cls4hNh1hhZwTMHtPKG0cr7h3FeJUwh62E4-_RmhswcBSjdCyqAzja/s320/DSC03161.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the start, I used gesso to cover the wooden box, but you could use white acrylic paint just as well. Leave to dry overnight.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZG72POC-6qBHOX_MiI8gG3y93j__3pYEWxQENX6WHBCk0_9E4oxVAJE7i3YUrdHBnRefnvB2fDtnox6azGgi4bEOJDKIza7qCY8-uy7OPOal3I_9RF0z8Kp7ByFIrozBsUCjhu-J_m4W/s1600/DSC03163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikZG72POC-6qBHOX_MiI8gG3y93j__3pYEWxQENX6WHBCk0_9E4oxVAJE7i3YUrdHBnRefnvB2fDtnox6azGgi4bEOJDKIza7qCY8-uy7OPOal3I_9RF0z8Kp7ByFIrozBsUCjhu-J_m4W/s320/DSC03163.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the roof to make a template, and used Zepher paper pad by prima, it has a fabulous green paper that looks like little roof tiles.... I cut 2 of these.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgntbY2AOz3kIAJh4tiLZES6cN2yihrZway6qlQfqTIJsRW7yV3UYv4nEGiih7tOLrw-mK87uFr4pq68g9LPDbVcQ6te8KcCr78I_TsnE22bbizu0aEhQAOe6sN2FzhvZRucd60B4ktyVhL/s1600/DSC03164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgntbY2AOz3kIAJh4tiLZES6cN2yihrZway6qlQfqTIJsRW7yV3UYv4nEGiih7tOLrw-mK87uFr4pq68g9LPDbVcQ6te8KcCr78I_TsnE22bbizu0aEhQAOe6sN2FzhvZRucd60B4ktyVhL/s320/DSC03164.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Vintage photo to distress the edges, I did this for all the paper peices I cut out.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUATw9JY61_Rn3UyM1i5597bIydkZ9mwf84pHc7OH649oaJDg_hyphenhyphenLMfDLQPquEz6Pk8r2FvpZvrogeZqZV3X6Zk15d3HvuK1Z-447PX9lRdRNpPyXd8wxeu9BJIBmafOt8wFh78wxnF0vm/s1600/DSC03166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUATw9JY61_Rn3UyM1i5597bIydkZ9mwf84pHc7OH649oaJDg_hyphenhyphenLMfDLQPquEz6Pk8r2FvpZvrogeZqZV3X6Zk15d3HvuK1Z-447PX9lRdRNpPyXd8wxeu9BJIBmafOt8wFh78wxnF0vm/s320/DSC03166.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it shows the back peice already distressed and ready to stick down, just another little process to go yet!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigfLfQKKwYQg4q2_8QnQLE732i20gT9U34-_2P_VMq5_NkqpYyXy5AUzQlEwHr_d1U6Ktw5S1OBo6K5zI_N3p7xyNINcrs3zqJDQ7FcIbHcew92qj8fm-jit8dA3ebOibdIi35my_lPoGE/s1600/DSC03168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigfLfQKKwYQg4q2_8QnQLE732i20gT9U34-_2P_VMq5_NkqpYyXy5AUzQlEwHr_d1U6Ktw5S1OBo6K5zI_N3p7xyNINcrs3zqJDQ7FcIbHcew92qj8fm-jit8dA3ebOibdIi35my_lPoGE/s320/DSC03168.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I used the previous paper peice and made a copy paper pattern for the front, I then had to measure and determine where the front perch and hole would go, using a paper pattern meant it didn't matter how many cuts I made...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbrH13JDlq8XFblBrXY3hstNnY9JSLBR-cDTfpe6FjYjDCm637nBrfyiE-SuC-HqEcLu0NSVS5P3CK3QLZYkU_l-OE6H1RGk0UQrdODjfzaKSjSQy7N5CVQ0qD6ZanKjtc8lt1RVSS1iPB/s1600/DSC03171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbrH13JDlq8XFblBrXY3hstNnY9JSLBR-cDTfpe6FjYjDCm637nBrfyiE-SuC-HqEcLu0NSVS5P3CK3QLZYkU_l-OE6H1RGk0UQrdODjfzaKSjSQy7N5CVQ0qD6ZanKjtc8lt1RVSS1iPB/s320/DSC03171.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it shows how I then drew around the copy paper pattern, you can just see the feint lines, and then I used my craft knife to cut out the holes required.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6UXqMkzpgwgLhJ9vM87QBBvhQ7LW3YWSu9_IyvsdQYmy7jSFGFRfZ4epueEhlxKocQtjwix5sbY_vdvXm1uQXQsgdhosYR9d6pWkcUBfjB2MQu8BWMtBAAJ1iZAvig5MqfvEl8XCYDhUl/s1600/DSC03172.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6UXqMkzpgwgLhJ9vM87QBBvhQ7LW3YWSu9_IyvsdQYmy7jSFGFRfZ4epueEhlxKocQtjwix5sbY_vdvXm1uQXQsgdhosYR9d6pWkcUBfjB2MQu8BWMtBAAJ1iZAvig5MqfvEl8XCYDhUl/s320/DSC03172.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then used my Vintage photo distress ink to ink all the edges of the box, it doesn't matter if you miss bits or get too much ink on the wood, most of it will be covered up with the papers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVAfB3aTTwEIhmVzjBNJbrgG9uFcMpOyeyG3q2kNxGHjIMOh6liZm7FTd5HGeKEIzIaN02UfayFAkV8k5qpALnkpKTP1s8w-bC7Fji_RfThAcS29qC6mypHjoMZ1b-bbesfJ88HAUGbo1R/s1600/DSC03176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVAfB3aTTwEIhmVzjBNJbrgG9uFcMpOyeyG3q2kNxGHjIMOh6liZm7FTd5HGeKEIzIaN02UfayFAkV8k5qpALnkpKTP1s8w-bC7Fji_RfThAcS29qC6mypHjoMZ1b-bbesfJ88HAUGbo1R/s320/DSC03176.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut leaves and flowers using Spellbinders Rose Creations, again the papers are from the Prima Zepher paper pad.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here shows the papers now attached with glue, cosmic clear dry is excellent for this job, I have used my stash dies to decorate the roof and sides, and the wonderful Crafts Too Vine corner for the front. I generally cut these to fit! The butterfly is from Lisa's shop..a few rub on's to add to the background.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgutc2AKDsTItlFvxVNFeud4TcgEpi9GD9eKuX95BnAysRXkmGZWTfVGhUjaEOLJGtxLWzH87Z6QZj31OBd7gVPA-c2dHfSWkyfh-JMoLY6lvjnlVulAFmK17R_QAs9J8XFrwna7QMaVIuh/s1600/DSC03179.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgutc2AKDsTItlFvxVNFeud4TcgEpi9GD9eKuX95BnAysRXkmGZWTfVGhUjaEOLJGtxLWzH87Z6QZj31OBd7gVPA-c2dHfSWkyfh-JMoLY6lvjnlVulAFmK17R_QAs9J8XFrwna7QMaVIuh/s320/DSC03179.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So here we are, finished! I have added the flowers to wire and attached using a hot glue gun, I have made a beautiful green bow from seam binding, (Lisa's shop) and stamped some random bees on the background to complete the look.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgugSpg6C1S9ZYV6YxGRKntssxDcsCrkMm8YBjvFA5xXL2ZU20Q5_g3MMY83WmfDnyj8GSfGlHdaa3cKZ3XL8tFqTA07Kks_NpaxgzD76q9XqlOgpNeReU_8JHzN4Xo5CjtM8wff-srkmk5/s1600/DSC03180.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgugSpg6C1S9ZYV6YxGRKntssxDcsCrkMm8YBjvFA5xXL2ZU20Q5_g3MMY83WmfDnyj8GSfGlHdaa3cKZ3XL8tFqTA07Kks_NpaxgzD76q9XqlOgpNeReU_8JHzN4Xo5CjtM8wff-srkmk5/s320/DSC03180.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
An another view, with pearls added too! Sometimes I just need to stop there! You could use anything to alter in the same way, Lisa has loads of stuff to choose from, and you could used stamps instead of papers to embellish, it's up to you. I hope you enjoyed this journey with me. </div>

like a bit of a play, and since my alcohol inks were out I thought I
would have a go at using them on a couple of plastic milk bottles we
have - plastic milk bottles are a bit of a novelty in our house as we
get millk in glass bottles from the milk man!!! But we needed extra at
the weekend.<br />
<br />
First clean your bottle out thoroughly (kind of obvious really!!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsiEsnORC694Dku7VWIJS1jagMJNa2BI7N9rmgd3UZajlW16qVtcHCyLLQqu0ck68YKUW4-4x685GIPoriGm7l4Dl3df5rCN3dkEJTMWrDxkKCtDOMRCeqi-brbGK5BtBv0v9il6eW5bnT/s1600/photo(3).JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsiEsnORC694Dku7VWIJS1jagMJNa2BI7N9rmgd3UZajlW16qVtcHCyLLQqu0ck68YKUW4-4x685GIPoriGm7l4Dl3df5rCN3dkEJTMWrDxkKCtDOMRCeqi-brbGK5BtBv0v9il6eW5bnT/s400/photo(3).JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Then cut out the section you want ... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0Q99bkiTxXiw2dS2YumZnwKlGYY0cfkBnh92OyrekkaQYVMHmCdVJRE-nyyrzlLnmQaocuYsjEkuis50ljTgDSrUG-JcvVmC7xe0AdTMVRfQU8ndQAtVE7tQJ8m_6v0fGC2UD1zbi6b_t/s1600/photo(2).JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0Q99bkiTxXiw2dS2YumZnwKlGYY0cfkBnh92OyrekkaQYVMHmCdVJRE-nyyrzlLnmQaocuYsjEkuis50ljTgDSrUG-JcvVmC7xe0AdTMVRfQU8ndQAtVE7tQJ8m_6v0fGC2UD1zbi6b_t/s400/photo(2).JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
(I know its not the same bottle - I was so excited I forgot to take the first picture!!!)<br />
<br />
Then
go over the plastic with alcohol inks and a blending tool until you get
the effect you want (again too carried away to take a photo!!)<br />
<br />
Then stamp your image, or die cut the shape you want onto the plastic. I used the large butterfly from Visible image.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Ulr3WsGJTy5rB7hwy4OAa63fBStDzL7PasY2Zaoawjq1vsIuY00nrb3MFBx9_0kAFzLeby15t7KCeEOvCyQ0Ur044ZPniV8pfcBTfVJEiani0H0pwZPPWZPi4a2O-Tp0h73nm47809mA/s1600/photo(6).JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Ulr3WsGJTy5rB7hwy4OAa63fBStDzL7PasY2Zaoawjq1vsIuY00nrb3MFBx9_0kAFzLeby15t7KCeEOvCyQ0Ur044ZPniV8pfcBTfVJEiani0H0pwZPPWZPi4a2O-Tp0h73nm47809mA/s320/photo(6).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
I cut.them out - make sure your ink is really dry or it will smudge a little when you touch it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMaZ9FOHZ6Va-tWHKHKevtumPpddpj1YXhyC9RNnWEmJeQPFrrxDvloYcEkuJY1VazNCF6jkgTvHuHRw_tbuil4_zuaOOhY53CoSjG87j3z_TKKV62FYRFcPwPKWCatZ-xFcDV5tYD-1gP/s1600/P3120089.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMaZ9FOHZ6Va-tWHKHKevtumPpddpj1YXhyC9RNnWEmJeQPFrrxDvloYcEkuJY1VazNCF6jkgTvHuHRw_tbuil4_zuaOOhY53CoSjG87j3z_TKKV62FYRFcPwPKWCatZ-xFcDV5tYD-1gP/s400/P3120089.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Easy peasy.<br />
And here is the card I made with the butterflies... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7MYvFwbW61b71o_8Ckp50Uyd8fqtYL6DCI2zQyyEaRYFCdJrJ-y9U54Db4TdzQKDNxgi8rA7mi7gMhQn_jyhsw9IVywbMeXqfP7k0QbWGEhYWDIkPavwC0qeE5eoaPY3IPZNqNgPw1o2z/s1600/VI+plastic+bottle+butterflies+and+tall+grass.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7MYvFwbW61b71o_8Ckp50Uyd8fqtYL6DCI2zQyyEaRYFCdJrJ-y9U54Db4TdzQKDNxgi8rA7mi7gMhQn_jyhsw9IVywbMeXqfP7k0QbWGEhYWDIkPavwC0qeE5eoaPY3IPZNqNgPw1o2z/s400/VI+plastic+bottle+butterflies+and+tall+grass.JPG" width="301" /></a></div>
<br />
So then I had to play more ...<br />
<br />
<br />
You can use your dies to cut the bottle - I used Tim Holtz dies for this card ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEN6UiVjFYuSSG7nC4vVicSnl_YduBFsCy-4QOldosE4qdoyw7h5txoew16Nq37lvPB3hktJQvqatzArKu4e9umGheyDH_Ek0K21golqHhhbsmZYFxufS4kwWIz1wVqFAGye09OKyX4xNN/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEN6UiVjFYuSSG7nC4vVicSnl_YduBFsCy-4QOldosE4qdoyw7h5txoew16Nq37lvPB3hktJQvqatzArKu4e9umGheyDH_Ek0K21golqHhhbsmZYFxufS4kwWIz1wVqFAGye09OKyX4xNN/s400/photo.JPG" width="331" /></a></div>
As well as using alcohol inks to colour the flowers, I had a play with my heat gun. You just need to be careful not to over heat the plastic, move your gun round alot, and let the plastic cool before doing anything with it, and it should keep its shape and not melt. I used Stampendous frantage in aged wine and aged teal over the butterfly border, and Ranger sticky embossing powder and glitter on butterflies. Sticky embossing powder is amazing - stamp your image in versamark, add the sticky embossing powder, heat and throw on glitter, glamour dust, anything sparkly, and it sticks to the embossing powder - amazing!<br />
<br />

Lisa stocks a fantastic range of things to alter, from notebooks, to tiles, photo frames, cotton reels, bags and boxes. And also a fabulous range of stamps to use on your altered projects.<br />
<br />
It
was a sturdy cardboard box that I was sent some crafting supplies in a
while ago, and I thought it would make a pretty box ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjAEmUM0P0ro0GQw3EbFLIP6nJl11LhfJ9w6DDUiwNQCHhAR3_39TAT6hJL44yvVbOxUwsGOCcEBs2229tNhfktbDKRSPue43j-znb36Q8f_BTZcpQrgSRkr3rVYXPSOSqmeGss78jFcQW/s1600/VI+butterflies+box+2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="345" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjAEmUM0P0ro0GQw3EbFLIP6nJl11LhfJ9w6DDUiwNQCHhAR3_39TAT6hJL44yvVbOxUwsGOCcEBs2229tNhfktbDKRSPue43j-znb36Q8f_BTZcpQrgSRkr3rVYXPSOSqmeGss78jFcQW/s400/VI+butterflies+box+2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I
painted the box using acrylic paints and added some vintage photo
distress stain, to create a worn look when the paint was dry. I stamped
the large butterfly and butterfly stamps from Visible Image over the top of the box using versafine vintage sepia ink, and then the sentiment from the Free your imagination<a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=900123939822182117"> s</a>tamp set from Visible round the sides.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWt3GgGm283FAKNvtKBlgFcJj9PFZsUK_eyGXwcsYAhseGy_xpzii3OZfY9Oqkd3gd1w3qL-3nyfL9m_p2AH0xJAirgJy7GrfWv8qM4GCFpc4ZWGeuz6qps9wRNMIR7-oYj4R4G1RR2hDX/s1600/VI+butterflies+box+1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWt3GgGm283FAKNvtKBlgFcJj9PFZsUK_eyGXwcsYAhseGy_xpzii3OZfY9Oqkd3gd1w3qL-3nyfL9m_p2AH0xJAirgJy7GrfWv8qM4GCFpc4ZWGeuz6qps9wRNMIR7-oYj4R4G1RR2hDX/s400/VI+butterflies+box+1.JPG" width="392" /></a></div>
I
cut some fabric flowers ourt using my Tattered flowers die, and stained
them using distress inks. I also stained the rose ribbon using
victorian velvet distress ink. Once the flowers were dry I punched a
small hole in them, added the stamens and scrunched them up, and spritzed them with mist to make them sparkle. Then I added them to the cotton reels, which were also distressed using vinage
photo distress ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGXFgaGxnyJM7EgASsW9eeqPUXcAat-35nJhyphenhyphenJDREGvSUgmsvL-htQ6-7yTsK_mAjMFztYrp34InBFFhMrh6xxEXIGlB9wwDN4qwPf71vweLFRMgU0agqYa6OBGZJ6UWGx4ctCw6R7p-zJ/s1600/VI+butterflies+box+3.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="350" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGXFgaGxnyJM7EgASsW9eeqPUXcAat-35nJhyphenhyphenJDREGvSUgmsvL-htQ6-7yTsK_mAjMFztYrp34InBFFhMrh6xxEXIGlB9wwDN4qwPf71vweLFRMgU0agqYa6OBGZJ6UWGx4ctCw6R7p-zJ/s400/VI+butterflies+box+3.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
And a closer look at those flowers.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmTMLtFSj-CgxP_wzUxHAwG20ErD9pimUb3C_Zjz6xM65YPTDfw_oPHgIUeMXjDcJ5thNIWV1uEuUu5KdlKmZal4ifQQjJ36Ibhg-WsRA_82cyO2e-tRaY31qEyvjLDztJy38j4zuQ2cOc/s1600/box+card+1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmTMLtFSj-CgxP_wzUxHAwG20ErD9pimUb3C_Zjz6xM65YPTDfw_oPHgIUeMXjDcJ5thNIWV1uEuUu5KdlKmZal4ifQQjJ36Ibhg-WsRA_82cyO2e-tRaY31qEyvjLDztJy38j4zuQ2cOc/s320/box+card+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It looks fabulous, and quite complex to make, but it is really quite
easy. The flowers were created using grungepaper and fabric, and I
added pearl brads, and some love gem swirls to the front.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiXidg8hzAZXmUyb1gY9DHahQoxtr_52g2f7x4tZ1yTPJ_z9rkoNh7okQT7o4DhonM0m1xO-JPDIjHHDq0cXktPuUYstreNBmQMqhfSlcI2sOR1JEflrcCYkXCowYAcnotkUkMhEqBzntP/s1600/box+card+2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiXidg8hzAZXmUyb1gY9DHahQoxtr_52g2f7x4tZ1yTPJ_z9rkoNh7okQT7o4DhonM0m1xO-JPDIjHHDq0cXktPuUYstreNBmQMqhfSlcI2sOR1JEflrcCYkXCowYAcnotkUkMhEqBzntP/s320/box+card+2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The flower on the inside is set into silicon so it stands proud of the bottom of the box.<br />
<br />
And this is how I did it:<br />
<br />
You will need cardstock 13x28cm, scored at 13cm and 15cm<br />
4 x 11.5cmx 18cm pieces of cardstock, scored every 2cm.<br />
Decorative items - tape/tissue/design paper, flowers, brads, gems - anything you want really.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipksFv6tLElmngXvNCOUaRM_GRVW04ULhSe5GcZN6SOSsHxjiByDOJrMXnfBYW3VCuUaMm_olmzbYVTkHUFm5UtbPW7f7Cp52h_Btl3qgvSJatgvtugDZNgivl5LLkGPHt54UcjG_UQp8w/s1600/1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipksFv6tLElmngXvNCOUaRM_GRVW04ULhSe5GcZN6SOSsHxjiByDOJrMXnfBYW3VCuUaMm_olmzbYVTkHUFm5UtbPW7f7Cp52h_Btl3qgvSJatgvtugDZNgivl5LLkGPHt54UcjG_UQp8w/s320/1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Concertina fold the 4 p11.5x18cm peices of cardstock like this ...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNyC7Z_tROO6DR7lcPvMCL1JrbEeXSzvEtlId0_-ibNCZbE-LI7EgE3ndIbI7tkU3pPPxHeeoqBnAOSIjdEfEydOMMvfLkRf5QaIeupowunCeaGkPnYan3zuGnzAe3tVboQ2qutQPpO9RH/s1600/2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNyC7Z_tROO6DR7lcPvMCL1JrbEeXSzvEtlId0_-ibNCZbE-LI7EgE3ndIbI7tkU3pPPxHeeoqBnAOSIjdEfEydOMMvfLkRf5QaIeupowunCeaGkPnYan3zuGnzAe3tVboQ2qutQPpO9RH/s320/2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
You really need to creasde the folds to keep them tight.<br />
<br />
Now
you need to assemble the 'box' - take 2 of the concertinaed strips and
add wet glue or glossy accents to one of the edges of each. You the
need to slide them together so they form an L<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJTjPWjkcpgkx3Hx6MJBEnq58NBHgBXVZmRjAhUsE4fdkD4IKTiW06AZnt_RIUTxpuEiVvwF0spYtlNyekDcXZ_jWyb-4aXYLGMEU0gWWTOaADOEYFqEAYk3O5qMWV10GG_XjM8V2H3QjE/s1600/3.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJTjPWjkcpgkx3Hx6MJBEnq58NBHgBXVZmRjAhUsE4fdkD4IKTiW06AZnt_RIUTxpuEiVvwF0spYtlNyekDcXZ_jWyb-4aXYLGMEU0gWWTOaADOEYFqEAYk3O5qMWV10GG_XjM8V2H3QjE/s320/3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Repeat for all the pieces so you have a square.<br />
I
prefer to use glossy accents as it dries much faster - if you are using
wet glue you may want to let each corner dry before doing the next.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv0iqmd5Q3EHKpK4SZHJRT1y6Vm8J5AvPi_UCElik01jh7RBFofZfFzwRLPABc-yvrvagloZRD_J72r-8l7gYux7CbFwHJ8-ggkZRiyTwbqKLWTKIHAhLqhGb9O0v0jrdikKXM0ZS49Hif/s1600/4.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv0iqmd5Q3EHKpK4SZHJRT1y6Vm8J5AvPi_UCElik01jh7RBFofZfFzwRLPABc-yvrvagloZRD_J72r-8l7gYux7CbFwHJ8-ggkZRiyTwbqKLWTKIHAhLqhGb9O0v0jrdikKXM0ZS49Hif/s320/4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Once the frame is dry I like to distress the outer and inner edges using vintage photo distress ink.<br />
<br />
Now
to decorate - I decided to use tissue tape,but you could use any papers you want, sprays, paints. I covered a square of
cardstock 12.5cmx12.5cm with the tape, and also stripes of card to cover
the binding and the tops of the 'box'.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh616EcRZFNsAVBfrykgWl8aULs_DONfGOb7HqXftMZw8hjbWY4kAdZebz9QOKAacSbHUa8oMqCDGJbnFxdH9dJDR-opWmRhobe-LRfAPV2awhJUIXlXCKy-sctCl1q9nYkdkJVsKO1TLku/s1600/5.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh616EcRZFNsAVBfrykgWl8aULs_DONfGOb7HqXftMZw8hjbWY4kAdZebz9QOKAacSbHUa8oMqCDGJbnFxdH9dJDR-opWmRhobe-LRfAPV2awhJUIXlXCKy-sctCl1q9nYkdkJVsKO1TLku/s320/5.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I
then used distress inks to colour the cardstock and tape, and let it
dry. Distress inks give quite a subtle colour - stains will give you a
darker effect.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiJ_5xXxVkPey2ROE8SqYmsL3gm89eTcYPoFgxOa_m8FvLN4pJuqGDIt7wYFl5MQ9sSEo34Vd76ATdGiNpHXKHfR0xqO3908pMS5GAntBQyd2i30LZL_qRC7nhOIfcUMfsOQwNfQIddNMh/s1600/8.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiJ_5xXxVkPey2ROE8SqYmsL3gm89eTcYPoFgxOa_m8FvLN4pJuqGDIt7wYFl5MQ9sSEo34Vd76ATdGiNpHXKHfR0xqO3908pMS5GAntBQyd2i30LZL_qRC7nhOIfcUMfsOQwNfQIddNMh/s320/8.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I covered the box tops ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

and lined the box in purple cardstock, before gluing the box frame down.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Onto
the decoration - I decided to use a couple of flowers, so I cut flowers
out of covered and stained grungepaper, hession and linen.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij8kuFgz6WhhKdwWgkNX0aDsr_ISffvL4P2O8jBoIMqmSVP24R6pyBXVWaHYujtnVzijIG2CSkQyZmd46Br14onb5kWbW1Doj25f6-k3T6MoBSysNJ-SBqPP84z5IC3HY8TVF8Zbd1eUZp/s1600/11.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij8kuFgz6WhhKdwWgkNX0aDsr_ISffvL4P2O8jBoIMqmSVP24R6pyBXVWaHYujtnVzijIG2CSkQyZmd46Br14onb5kWbW1Doj25f6-k3T6MoBSysNJ-SBqPP84z5IC3HY8TVF8Zbd1eUZp/s320/11.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I
layered them up, using the fabric ones as well, srunched them up and
distressed the edges using walnut stain distress ink, and then added a
large pearl brad.<br />

<br />
I thought I would make a tag for a change, and a boy/grungy one! I
coloured Max in using my pens and then cut him out. I stamped the metal
plate background over the whole tag - as the stamp is clear acrylic it
is easy to line up to get a repeating pattern. The tag was distressed
and inked round with black soot distress ink. I die cut the clock and
fence using grunge paper, and then coloured them using black soot and
silver alchol ink. The metal tag was embossed and covered with the same
alcohol ink, and gently sanded. I added some stickers to it and dabbed
black soot distress ink over it. Finally the seam binding was
distressed with black soot and the tag tied through it.<br />

I
am loving these Visible Image stamps - and Molly is so like my younger
daughter!! Most of her Barbie dolls are headless!!! I coloured her
using my pens and then created a stippled background. I went for quite
muted papers and backed them onto dark cardstock. I die cut the flowers
and attached brads to their centres. I added some lace and thin satin
ribon, and a bow, charm and button. Finally a swirl and the sentiment
which I stamped directly onto the dp. <br />
